About this role
Lead flight testing and validation for Flock's Drone as First Responder systems, operating as Pilot in Command during field missions while troubleshooting hardware integrations and writing custom test scripts. You'll spend 70% of your time outdoors evaluating aircraft performance and components under real-world conditions, with 25% domestic travel for operational testing.
What you'll do
- Conduct technical flight testing and evaluation of DFR aircraft, hardware integrations, and system components
- Serve as Pilot in Command during outdoor flight operations and assess system behavior across diverse conditions
- Write and modify Python test scripts to extract flight data and analyze aircraft performance
- Perform root-cause troubleshooting on hardware and software issues from bench and field testing
- Document flight data and generate technical test reports with actionable findings for engineering teams
- Integrate and validate new physical components on aircraft systems for compatibility and reliability
