About this role

Formic seeks experienced Robotics Field Service Engineers to maintain and support its growing fleet of industrial robotic systems deployed across US manufacturing facilities. You'll diagnose failures, perform preventative maintenance, and drive uptime in fast-paced factory environments while building strong customer relationships.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose and resolve robotic cell failures on-site and remotely to restore production quickly
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on deployed robotic manufacturing systems
  • Log service activity, maintenance records, and spare part needs in CMMS platforms
  • Provide technical training and support to customer operators and maintenance teams
  • Identify recurring failure patterns and escalate systemic issues for continuous improvement
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols including LOTO and industrial compliance requirements

  • Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, PLC, and robotic control systems
  • Reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings
  • CMMS platform operation and maintenance documentation
  • 6-axis robot programming or operation (Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, Universal Robots)
  • Root cause analysis and structured problem-solving
  • Professional communication and customer-facing support
  • Preventative and corrective maintenance expertise
