About this role
Formlabs seeks a Python software intern to develop testing and calibration tools for 3D printing hardware during Fall 2026. You'll work hands-on at the intersection of software and hardware, supporting electromechanical systems validation and manufacturing processes while collaborating across engineering teams.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain Python-based software tools for calibration, validation, and testing of electromechanical and robotic systems
- Coordinate with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to define requirements and deliver testing solutions
- Perform hardware modifications to printers and test setups to support experimental workflows
- Manage the complete lifecycle of test tools including design, validation, documentation, deployment, and maintenance
- Analyze production line data and provide operational insights using data science techniques
- Improve development and deployment processes to streamline software releases across global factories
