Mechanical Engineer (Site Infrastructure)
About this role
Freeform seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and manage site infrastructure for Skyfall, an advanced AI-native manufacturing platform. You'll oversee thermal management, industrial utilities, fluid systems, and factory monitoring to support global hardware deployment.
What you'll do
- Design custom infrastructure including thermal management, industrial plumbing, and high-flow gas delivery systems for Skyfall
- Develop factory performance monitoring using sensors and data acquisition to track utility health and system metrics
- Oversee critical utilities (power, process water, nitrogen, argon) ensuring compliance with safety codes
- Define and implement preventive maintenance programs for pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems
- Source specialized fluid system components and high-pressure fittings to maintain project momentum
