About us

Gantri is a San Francisco lighting company known for designer lamps made with 3D printing. The Shop, our showroom in SOMA, has expanded into a retail space for design lovers, with art and design books, independent magazines, scents, and an exclusive apparel collaboration, alongside our lighting.

The role

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable part-time seasonal associate to join us on Saturdays and special events during the holiday season. You’ll help us welcome visitors, talk with them about what we carry, and ring up sales. It’s a great fit if you like design, art, fashion, digital manufacturing, or independent publishing and want hands-on retail experience.
This is a temporary, part-time position expected to begin on November 21 and end approximately on December 23, based on seasonal business needs.

Schedule

• Primarily Saturdays, roughly 11am–5pm, with some days potentially running until 6pm
• Expected hours: 6 hours on Saturdays, plus approximately 2-4 additional hours during peak periods
• Friday availability, including Black Friday, may be required
• Additional availability may be requested for special events and during high-volume holiday periods, including the week leading up to major holidays
• Hours and specific shifts may vary based on business needs
• Location: 320 10th Street, SOMA, San Francisco 94103

What you'll do

• Greet visitors and create a welcoming, low-pressure atmosphere
• Answer questions about our products, and learn a little about each (we’ll train you)
• Process sales using our Square point-of-sale system
• Keep displays tidy and restock shelves
• Help open and close the Shop on shifts

What we're looking for

• Friendly, calm, and comfortable talking with people
• Reliable and on time
• Interested in design, art, books, fashion, or retail
• Comfortable with basic tech like a tablet or Square POS system
• Able to stand for most of a shift and lift light boxes
• Prior retail experience is a plus, but not required
