About this role

General Matter, a nuclear fuel enrichment company backed by top-tier investors, seeks a Simulation Software Engineer to design high-fidelity simulators for complex physics and hardware systems. You'll architect mission-critical simulation infrastructure, model system dynamics across operating conditions, and validate results against real-world data in collaboration with engineering teams.

What you'll do

  • Architect and own simulators for large distributed systems with complex interactions and failure modes
  • Model system dynamics and control behavior in nominal and off-nominal operating conditions
  • Build scalable infrastructure for high-volume simulation, scenario generation, and automated validation
  • Define correctness criteria and validate simulation outputs against test and real-world data
  • Work closely with hardware, chemical, and electrical engineering teams
  • Define architecture, implementation standards, and operational reliability of simulation systems

What they're looking for

  • C++ and/or Python programming
  • Distributed systems modeling
  • Control systems understanding
  • Physical process modeling
  • Simulation validation and verification
  • Hardware-in-the-loop testing
