About this role
Join General Matter as an Embedded Software Engineering Intern this summer to develop safety-critical firmware for uranium enrichment systems. You'll write low-level control code in C/C++, Rust, and PLCs that command actuators and process high-speed sensor data, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.
What you'll do
- Develop safety-critical embedded software for industrial enrichment systems
- Write low-level firmware in C/C++, Rust, and PLCs to control actuators and process sensor data
- Design control architectures, state machines, and data acquisition systems
- Build automated testing and validation infrastructure for embedded code
- Integrate firmware with hardware and troubleshoot electromechanical issues
- Debug embedded systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and lab instrumentation
