About this role
Hadrian seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop custom industrial machinery, automation equipment, and robotic systems for aerospace and defense manufacturing. You'll own mechanical design from concept through commissioning, combining CAD expertise with hands-on fabrication knowledge in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical systems, fixtures, tooling, and robotic end-of-arm tooling using 3D CAD software
- Create manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and engineering documentation with GD&T and design-for-manufacturing principles
- Support fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, prototype builds, and testing activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing, controls, project management, and suppliers on equipment development
- Conduct design reviews, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning to optimize performance and reliability
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce costs
