About this role

Hadrian seeks a Paint Engineer to design and launch an aerospace-grade coating facility in Los Angeles, owning everything from surface prep through cure and inspection. You'll manage regulatory compliance (NFPA/OSHA), specify equipment, build and train the operating team, and troubleshoot the line through production readiness.

What you'll do

  • Lead equipment specification, vendor RFQ evaluation, and factory/site acceptance testing for coating, cure, ventilation, and fire-suppression systems
  • Define process windows, qualify equipment, and document work instructions across prep, blasting, wet paint, powder, cure, and specialty coatings
  • Recruit and train the coating line's support team; develop certification matrix and train-the-trainer programs for operators and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot yield and throughput issues during ramp-up and formally transition the line to production ownership
  • Work on-site daily during specification, installation, commissioning, and launch phases

What they're looking for

  • Aerospace/defense MRO coatings (MIL-SPEC, CARC, AMS-spec, corrosion control, surface prep)
  • NFPA 33/86/70/30/409 and OSHA 1910 paint-operation compliance and hazard classification
  • Equipment specification writing and vendor selection/evaluation
  • Factory and customer acceptance testing and validation
  • Team building and train-the-trainer program development
  • Process engineering and first-article inspection/traceability
  • NADCAP and AS9100 quality systems (preferred)
  • PLC/SCADA controls logic review (preferred)

Benefits
