Embedded Software Engineer

About this role

HavocAI is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to enhance the reliability and capabilities of uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). This engineer will focus on developing low-level control systems, optimizing communication protocols, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on innovative projects in defense and environmental monitoring.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain software control systems for USVs
• Design and optimize drivers for communication protocols
• Integrate and test drivers for new subsystems
• Work with engineers to abstract hardware functions
• Set up and maintain hardware-in-the-loop test environments
• Create and document software and design projects

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Experience in embedded software development with C/C++
• Knowledge of communication protocols like CAN and RS485
• Familiarity with tools like git, Docker, Confluence, Jira
• Strong electronics skills including soldering and debugging
• Ability to manage prototype projects independently
• US Citizenship and eligibility for Secret Clearance
