Mission Software Engineer - Honolulu, HI

About this role

Havoc is seeking a Mission Software Engineer to develop and deploy autonomous systems software for military and commercial applications in Hawaii. You'll own end-to-end software solutions across networking, autonomy, and robotics, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities in real-world operational environments.

What you'll do

• Own and deliver customer-facing software solutions that meet mission objectives
• Develop software enhancements for autonomous systems deployed across sea, air, and land domains
• Create performance metrics and monitoring systems for deployed applications
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution efforts
• Collaborate with customers to translate operational needs into software features
• Work with platform engineering teams to scale capabilities for broader use

What they're looking for

• C++, Python, or Rust programming
• Linux development environment expertise
• Data processing and analysis at scale
• Complex systems and codebase navigation
• Autonomy frameworks (ROS, MOOS-IvP preferred)
• Distributed communication and messaging systems
• Flight systems or safety-critical software experience
• Hardware integration and robotics familiarity
