About this role

Heart Aerospace seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and manage the full lifecycle of printed-circuit board assemblies for their hybrid-electric ES-30 aircraft. You'll architect high-reliability, mixed-signal boards for flight-critical applications while collaborating with software and mechanical teams to meet aerospace certification standards.

What you'll do

  • Design PCBAs for high-reliability and power-conversion applications handling up to 900 V DC and high-speed digital buses
  • Execute schematic capture, component selection, and constraint-driven layout using Altium Designer with focus on signal integrity and manufacturability
  • Conduct design reviews, simulations, and worst-case analyses to comply with DO-160, DO-254, and RTCA standards
  • Lead board bring-up, validation testing, and write test scripts in Python/Rust/C alongside software engineers
  • Coordinate with mechanical teams on board outlines, connectors, and thermal optimization
  • Improve electronics development workflows through automation, version control, and mentoring of junior staff

What they're looking for

  • PCBA design and new product introduction (NPI)
  • Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD tools
  • High-speed communication protocols (Ethernet, ARINC-429, CAN, SPI/I²C)
  • Power electronics and motor-drive design
  • Lab instrumentation and EMI/EMC debugging
  • DO-160, DO-254, and aerospace design assurance standards
  • Python/Rust/C programming for test automation
  • Signal integrity and thermal analysis

Benefits

  • Base salary $113,000–$216,000 USD
