Software Engineer - Medical Applications & Algorithms

About this role

Heartflow seeks a Software Engineer to develop AI-driven cardiac diagnostic software, working on cloud-based algorithmic pipelines and interactive 3D visualization tools. You'll collaborate across teams to design medical imaging algorithms while ensuring compliance with FDA and ISO standards for medical device software.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and validate algorithmic components for medical imaging and geometry processing
• Build and improve cloud-based algorithmic pipelines, test frameworks, and CI/CD infrastructure
• Enhance modularity and testability of software through careful design and comprehensive testing
• Support clinical validations and coordinate software releases across cross-functional teams
• Develop and deploy AI-assisted tools while maintaining strict medical device safety and documentation standards
• Provide production support and ensure ongoing compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 requirements

What they're looking for

• Python and modern C++ (C++11+) development
• Software testing, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies
• AI-assisted coding tools with critical code review capability
• Medical imaging, computer vision, or 3D computational geometry (preferred)
• TypeScript and three.js web technologies (preferred)
• AWS or cloud infrastructure experience (preferred)
• Validation methodologies and statistical testing (preferred)
• Rust programming (preferred)
