Quality Assurance Engineer
About this role
IEM seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer to support ISO 9001 compliance and quality initiatives at their Jacksonville manufacturing facility. You'll analyze metrics, develop quality procedures, implement Six Sigma methodologies, and collaborate across departments to optimize product quality and manufacturing processes for electrical distribution systems.
What you'll do
- Monitor and analyze process quality metrics, producing statistical reports and technical documentation for management
- Develop and implement manufacturing procedures, PFMEA analyses, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards
- Apply Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies (SPC, GRR, CAR) to optimize manufacturability and reduce quality issues
- Conduct internal audits, failure analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams on improvement opportunities
- Manage quality training needs and establish standard work and best practices across production teams
- Maintain departmental KPIs and facilitate problem-solving with production and supplier teams

- Six Sigma methodology (green belt minimum, black belt preferred)
- ISO 9001 and quality management systems
- Statistical analysis and SPC tools
- SolidWorks CAD knowledge
- Switchgear systems and electrical standards (UL 891, UL 1558, IEEE C37)
- IPC-620 standards
- Manufacturing process design and optimization
- Problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration
