About this role
Kodiak Robotics seeks a Sensor Hardware Engineer to develop and optimize perception sensor systems for autonomous trucking. You'll conduct testing, analyze performance data, and collaborate with suppliers to advance lidar, radar, camera, and ultrasonic technologies that power self-driving vehicles.
What you'll do
- Select and optimize autonomous driving sensors including lidar, radar, camera, and ultrasonics in collaboration with external partners
- Analyze on-road sensor data to identify performance trends and prioritize optimization efforts
- Design and execute hands-on sensor testing to define vehicle architecture and enhance perception capabilities
- Establish sensor field-of-view requirements and validate new vehicle platforms against specifications
- Integrate sensors onto vehicles and troubleshoot integration issues
- Manage supplier and partner relationships while supporting field testing operations
