Supplier Development Engineer

About this role

Lexington Medical seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to drive sourcing and qualification of components for minimally invasive surgical devices. You'll partner with R&D and manufacturing to translate designs into manufacturable solutions, manage vendor relationships, and ensure reliable, scalable supply chains for new product launches in the Boston area.

What you'll do

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for custom components, raw materials, and assemblies for surgical devices
• Partner with R&D and Design Engineering to translate specifications into sourcing strategies and manufacturer requirements
• Lead supplier selection, RFQs, cost/lead-time analysis, negotiation, and vendor onboarding
• Drive component qualification with Quality and Manufacturing, supporting first article inspection and design transfer
• Assess supplier capabilities across manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC, stamping, additive manufacturing, PCBA)
• Resolve supplier technical issues and non-conformances through cross-functional collaboration
