About this role

Join LILA's Research Operations team as an Associate/Engineer I to conduct hands-on materials characterization and formulation work in a high-throughput, shift-based lab environment. You'll perform rheological, thermal, and mechanical testing on polymer-based materials while supporting state-of-the-art automation technologies and contributing to diverse scientific projects.

What you'll do

  • Conduct rheological, thermal, and chemical characterization of formulations using specialized testing equipment
  • Perform mechanical testing including tensile, peel, and shear tests on polymer-based specimens
  • Prepare and formulate materials such as coatings, adhesives, paints, and elastic solutions for testing
  • Follow detailed SOPs to prepare reagents, test specimens, and consumables while maintaining reproducibility
  • Record, organize, and maintain experimental data with meticulous attention to detail and flag anomalies for review
  • Monitor shift workflow performance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with scientists to support diverse projects
