Founding Design Engineer role at a seed-stage AI-native pricing SaaS startup responsible for establishing and maintaining frontend coherence across the product. You'll build and enforce design systems, component libraries, and engineering patterns that scale as AI coding agents contribute code alongside humans.

What you'll do

  • Own design token system, shadcn/ui component library, and Tailwind conventions across the product suite
  • Define frontend patterns using React Query, React Hook Form, and Zod to ensure consistency in agent-generated code
  • Audit and maintain frontend tooling including Biome configuration, Playwright E2E tests, and performance
  • Enforce WCAG accessibility standards and integrate brand guidelines into codebase
  • Integrate and optimize AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor into frontend workflows
  • Build conversational and non-standard AI interfaces including streaming responses and generative views
