Perception Engineer

Mach Industries is seeking a Perception Engineer to develop advanced perception systems for defense applications, focusing on navigation and targeting in contested environments. The ideal candidate will work with deep learning and computer vision to turn research algorithms into practical tools while optimizing them for real-time operations.

What you'll do

• Develop detection, segmentation, and tracking architectures for various image types
• Set up training and evaluation pipelines, including regression testing
• Optimize models for real-time performance on embedded hardware
• Integrate multi-sensor data for enhanced decision-making
• Create tools for visualization and analysis from various data sources
• Test algorithms using simulations and real-world data

What they're looking for

• Proficient in C++ and Python for machine learning
• Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch
• Strong knowledge of detection and tracking models
• Familiar with model optimization for real-time systems
• Experience working with EO/IR imagery
• Ability to build and manage large datasets
• Expertise in profiling and debugging
