About this role
Rainmaker is looking for a Mechanical/Aerospace Research Engineer to work on innovative aerosol and liquid dispersion systems aimed at enhancing precipitation. The role involves hands-on design and prototyping of high-velocity fluid systems to optimize aerosol and powder dispersion, contributing to solutions for water scarcity issues.
What you'll do
- Design and test custom high-velocity nozzles
- Develop systems for aerosol and powder dispersion
- Build mechanical feeding and aerosol generation hardware
- Create pneumatic and fluidic routing systems
- Integrate aerosol generation systems into UAS
- Rapidly iterate nozzle designs based on performance data
What they're looking for
- Expertise in fluid dynamics
- Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
- Hands-on prototyping and fabrication experience
- Knowledge of particle dynamics and breakup
- Experience with pneumatic hardware
- Familiarity with CFD modeling (e.g., ANSYS Fluent)
- Basic electronics and programming skills
- Experience in high-speed flow characterization
