Dimensional Quality Engineer, Metrology
About this role
Neuralink is seeking a Dimensional Quality Engineer/Senior CMM Operator to serve as the measurement authority for implant and robotic device components. You will own coordinate measuring machine programming and operations, establish incoming quality control workflows, perform precision inspections on complex tight-tolerance parts, and scale metrology capability across the organization.
What you'll do
- Program, calibrate, and maintain CMM fleet (bridge, optical, and portable arms) with focus on alignment strategies and measurement uncertainty
- Build and execute incoming quality control workflow including sampling plans, AS9102 first-article reviews, and supplier NCR closure
- Perform first-article and in-process inspection on precision-machined components with sub-thousandth-inch tolerances
- Apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T rigorously to establish defensible datum schemes and reproducible measurement routines
- Generate inspection reports and partner with design, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams on tolerance stack-ups and fixture design
- Develop CMM operator training curriculum, certify additional operators, and maintain calibration and gage R&R documentation
