About this role
Neuralink is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to enhance the reliability of implantable brain-computer interfaces by managing the full simulation-to-test loop. This role focuses on the development of high-performance materials and involves extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with mechanical integrity standards.
What you'll do
- Build and validate explicit dynamics FEA models for mechanical response predictions
- Manage the end-to-end mechanical testing pipeline, including fixture design and results correlation
- Translate physical test data into material model inputs and optimize parameters
- Coordinate and oversee various test projects while ensuring data quality
- Extend validated impact models to cover other reliability domains
- Support cross-functional reliability programs as required
What they're looking for
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with explicit dynamics FEA (LS-DYNA, Abaqus)
- Hands-on mechanical testing experience
- Knowledge of polymer or composite material characterization
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
- Familiarity with ASTM/IEC test standards
- Ability to work independently and define test plans
- Experience with high-strain-rate testing preferred
