About this role
Observable Space is looking for a driven Mechanical Engineer to design and optimize mechanical systems for telescopes and related equipment. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality observatory-grade systems for both terrestrial and future space applications.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical and optomechanical components
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
- Perform structural and optical performance analysis
- Conduct FEA simulations for environmental conditions
- Collaborate with optics and software engineering teams
- Support the product lifecycle from design to production

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- CAD software proficiency (SolidWorks, NX, etc.)
