About this role

OBE seeks a Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Engineer II to design and optimize advanced manufacturing processes at their Northport, AL facility. The role involves leading lean initiatives, managing capital projects, mentoring technical teams, and driving operational excellence across production lines.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop and implement innovative manufacturing processes and advanced equipment
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Toyota Production System tools, conducting Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping
  • Develop process documentation including PFMEAs, control plans, flow diagrams and work instructions
  • Conduct time studies, line balancing, and optimize plant layout and material flow through equipment design
  • Manage capital projects end-to-end from authorization through asset release, including SAT/FAT qualification
  • Teach and coach team members on quality tools, root cause analysis, statistical methods and operational standards
