Data Center Physical Security Systems Engineer

OpenAI is hiring a Data Center Physical Security Systems Engineer to architect and deploy scalable physical security solutions across global AI infrastructure. This hands-on role combines strategic design with hands-on implementation, requiring expertise in physical security systems, hyperscale data centers, and cross-functional collaboration to protect critical infrastructure at enterprise scale.

What you'll do

• Design and establish physical security technology architecture strategy for AI data centers, including access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection systems
• Define enterprise architecture standards and technical patterns for security capabilities across diverse deployment models
• Lead architecture governance and standards for secure deployment, operational resilience, and lifecycle management of security technologies
• Partner with security operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, compliance, and external providers to ensure integrated and operationally effective systems
• Conduct architecture reviews, technology evaluations, and deployment oversight across global infrastructure
• Prototype, integrate, troubleshoot, and drive technical solutions from design through implementation
