About this role

Build secure, enterprise-grade backend systems for OpenAI's Codex platform that enable organizations to safely deploy AI coding capabilities while maintaining control over sensitive data, access policies, and compliance. Own the full lifecycle of identity, encryption, governance, and audit systems that protect proprietary codebases and organizational workflows at scale.

What you'll do

  • Design and operate backend systems for encryption, key management, access controls, and secure data handling in the Codex enterprise control plane
  • Build policy and governance systems allowing enterprises to configure, enforce, and audit Codex capabilities across users, teams, and environments
  • Develop reliable, observable services spanning identity, authorization, audit logging, compliance, and enterprise administration
  • Partner with product, security, infrastructure, and customer teams to translate enterprise requirements into durable platform capabilities
  • Define enterprise-grade standards for AI software engineering systems as adoption scales across large organizations
  • Implement SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM, RBAC, and data governance patterns for multi-tenant deployments
