Software Engineer, Engineering Acceleration | Consumer Devices

About this role

OpenAI is seeking a senior software engineer to design and operate CI/CD systems, build platforms, and improve developer productivity across device and cloud infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on reducing engineering toil, shortening feedback loops, and creating secure, reliable internal tooling that enables teams to ship faster.

What you'll do

• Design and build CI/CD pipelines and software delivery infrastructure for device and cloud systems
• Lead architecture of internal platform capabilities including build, test, deployment, and developer tooling
• Create self-serve workflows and paved-road solutions to reduce manual effort and improve adoption
• Implement security controls including access management, secrets handling, and artifact permissions
• Define and track metrics for platform health, build times, deployment lead time, and failure rates
• Partner with product, systems, and infrastructure teams to identify pain points and drive improvements
