About this role

Path Robotics seeks a Software Engineer to develop real-time, high-performance C++ systems for AI-driven robotic platforms in manufacturing. You'll work with ROS/ROS2, perception pipelines, and motion control to build production-ready robotics solutions that integrate computer vision, planning, and execution across distributed systems.

What you'll do

  • Design modular, concurrent, and distributed systems for perception, planning, and execution with strong multithreading and synchronization
  • Develop robotic welding features with automated testing, optimized for real-time and deterministic behavior
  • Integrate computer vision, motion planning, and control systems with industrial robots
  • Debug complex issues across real-time motion control, perception pipelines, and multi-package ROS integration
  • Conduct code reviews and write comprehensive unit and integration tests
  • Collaborate with team members to solve challenging robotics and AI problems

What they're looking for

  • C++ for high-performance real-time systems
  • ROS and ROS2 (publishers/subscribers, services, node lifecycle)
  • CMake, catkin, and colcon build systems
  • Multithreading and concurrency for deterministic systems
  • Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
  • Computer vision and sensor integration
  • Motion planning and control systems
  • Kubernetes and Terraform (AWS)

Benefits

  • Daily free lunch
  • Flexible PTO
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 6–14 weeks fully paid parental leave
  • 401(k) retirement plan through Empower
  • Generous employee referral bonuses

Likely interview questions

  • Describe a time you debugged a complex real-time system issue—what was your approach and what did you learn?
  • How have you designed thread-safe, concurrent systems in C++, and what synchronization primitives did you use?
