The Role

As the Revenue Accountant you will be the technical backbone of Peregrine’s revenue recognition function. This role will own the mechanics of ASC 606 in practice: building and maintaining the monthly revenue waterfall, preparing revenue journal entries and drafting the workpapers that support Peregrine’s revenue recognition process. You’ll independently prepare technical analyses and recommendations, partnering closely with the Revenue Accounting Manager on revenue recognition matters. This role combines disciplined monthly close execution with contract-level analysis, historical revenue projects, and audit support. You’ll bring strong technical grounding, curiosity, and attention to detail, with the opportunity to deepen your revenue accounting expertise in a growing SaaS business.

What You Will Do

• Own the monthly revenue waterfall calculation and maintenance end-to-end, including the underlying formulas and validation checks.
• Prepare and post monthly revenue journal entries for the U.S. and international contracts as part of the close calendar, including multi-currency transactions and related FX considerations.
• Prepare recurring revenue trend and variance analyses and ad hoc reports, reviewing account activity to identify discrepancies, explain changes, and provide meaningful financial insights to the Revenue Accounting Manager.
• Prepare historical revenue review and correction workpapers under light oversight, working assigned items through to resolution.
• Independently draft the annual ASC 606 workpaper set—including performance obligation (POB) analyses, standalone selling price (SSP) reviews, and contract-level revenue patterns—for review and sign-off.
• Analyze contract-level performance obligations and revenue-recognition questions, preparing recommended positions for review and approval.
• Monitor service-delivery status and revenue-recognition triggers across the contract population, flagging timing changes before they land in close.
• Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for month-end close and audit requests, meeting established close and audit deadlines.
• Support contract intake by triaging high-volume contract-related correspondence, confirming terms, keeping the contract repository current and organized, and analyzing contract trends within workpapers.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of operational, in-house SaaS revenue accounting experience applying ASC 606 to revenue waterfalls, performance obligation analyses, and a live contract population.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience in audit or advisory, ideally with technology or SaaS clients, providing a strong foundation in ASC 606.
• Solid working knowledge of the ASC 606 five-step model, including SSP, contract modifications, variable consideration, and performance obligation identification.
• Ability to independently draft technically sound workpapers, identify open judgment questions, and present clear recommendations for review.
• Experience with month-end close mechanics: journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, multi-currency transactions, and audit workpaper support.
• Strong spreadsheet skills, including formulas and reconciling data across systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex revenue information into clear analyses, provide recommendations, and collaborate effectively across teams.
• A proven record of accuracy and follow-through, with the ability to work against a fixed close calendar and flag risk to it in advance.
• Nice to have: NetSuite experience, and exposure to government or public-sector contracts — milestone billing, multi-agency or consortium billing structures, or public-sector procurement terms
