About this role

Ramp seeks a Design Engineer to bridge design and front-end development, building high-craft financial interfaces using AI-first workflows. You'll own product surfaces end-to-end—from concept through production—using React, TypeScript, and AI tools like Cursor to prototype, validate with customers, and ship experiences that make complex finance operations feel simple and trustworthy.

What you'll do

  • Design and build complete product experiences end-to-end, using layout and interaction to simplify complex financial workflows
  • Prototype and validate designs in React/TypeScript with real users before full systemization
  • Work AI-first using Cursor and Claude Code to explore implementations and scaffold components
  • Extend and maintain design systems, translating Ramp's principles into reusable, brand-aligned patterns
  • Design transparent UX that reveals AI automation and agent actions without overwhelming users
  • Ensure shipping work meets performance, accessibility, and reliability standards across Core Web Vitals and semantics

What they're looking for

  • React and TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Semantic HTML and modern CSS
  • Cursor and Claude Code (AI-native development)
  • Figma and design systems
  • User research and prototyping validation
  • Accessibility and performance optimization
  • Component library architecture
  • Visual and interaction design craft

Benefits
