About this role

Relativity Space seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to support the design release and production ramp of electromechanical and pneumatic mechanisms for the Terran R reusable rocket. You'll collaborate across vehicle design, supply chain, test, and production teams to develop critical components like landing leg mechanisms, grid fin actuators, and separation systems while optimizing factory processes and tooling.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for electromechanical and pneumatic mechanisms including landing legs, grid fin actuators, and separation/release systems
  • Collaborate with vehicle design, supply chain, test, and production teams during New Product Introduction phase
  • Create and optimize tooling, factory floor layouts, and production workflows
  • Train technicians and establish manufacturing procedures for mechanism assembly and testing
  • Support design iterations and resolve manufacturing challenges in a fast-paced development environment
  • Balance quality standards with aggressive timelines and cost constraints
