Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Fall 2026 to design and develop embedded software for vehicle electronics. The role involves working with core software on embedded Linux/RTOS environments, contributing to vehicle platform innovations in a collaborative team setting.

What you'll do

• Design and develop embedded software for ECUs
• Implement Hardware Abstraction Layers for hardware interaction
• Build complex systems to enhance vehicle functionality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on software projects

• Proficiency in C++
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, Go)
• Embedded Software Development experience
• Understanding of RTOS fundamentals
• Familiarity with embedded Linux
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols
• Experience with interface protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C)
• Background in automotive systems
