About this role

Join Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies to develop automated test systems for electric vehicle zonal controllers and battery management units. You'll design and deploy comprehensive test solutions spanning firmware, hardware, and software across design validation, reliability testing, and high-volume manufacturing environments.

What you'll do

  • Lead development of automated test solutions for zonal and BMS ECUs from requirements through deployment at labs and contract manufacturers
  • Design test equipment for high-channel-count I/O including drivers, PWM outputs, load emulation, and diagnostic verification
  • Build battery management test systems for cell voltage measurement, balancing, current sensing, and monitoring links
  • Develop custom test sequences in Python using automation frameworks and AI coding tools while maintaining code quality
  • Integrate firmware, hardware, and software end-to-end including board bring-up, bootloader flows, diagnostics, and instrument control
  • Design fault injection coverage for open circuits, shorts, over-current/voltage, and verify ECU diagnostic responses
