Ground Systems Engineer II, Mechanical

Rocket Lab is seeking a Ground Systems Engineer II at the Stennis Space Center to design, build, and maintain test facilities for their Archimedes rocket engine and Neutron launch vehicles. The role involves close collaboration with propulsion and operations teams, requiring both mechanical design skills and understanding of test operations.

What you'll do

• Design and integrate test systems for test objectives
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot facility issues
• Develop maintenance protocols for test infrastructure
• Work with design teams to execute tests on hardware
• Oversee installation and checkout of facility systems
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance of test systems

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering
• 2+ years in rocket engine test design
• Proficient in Siemens NX and Teamcenter
• Familiarity with ASME B31.1
• Knowledge of CAD and simulation tools
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
