About this role
Rocket Lab seeks a Spacecraft Propulsion Components Engineer II to lead the development of propulsion and fluidic systems for space missions. You'll own component and system design, testing, and technical oversight while mentoring team members on programs serving civil, commercial, and defense customers.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end development of propulsion system components and subsystems from concept through production
- Design propulsion components using CAD and perform thermal, structural, and performance analysis
- Plan and execute tests, including instrumentation setup, data collection, and analysis
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports from team members
- Manage project schedules, identify priorities, and coordinate work across engineering and technician staff
- Mentor junior engineers and establish technical standards through documentation and process improvement
