About this role
Scout Motors seeks an Industrial Engineer & Production Systems Specialist to drive Lean manufacturing excellence and optimize production processes at their Columbia, SC facility. You'll design efficient work processes, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and establish performance metrics that support reliable vehicle manufacturing for Scout's electric and range-extended SUV lineup.
What you'll do
- Implement and continuously improve Lean practices and production operating systems across assigned manufacturing areas
- Define and establish process optimization concepts to enhance production efficiency and workflow
- Develop and track productivity improvement measures based on relevant KPIs and performance metrics
- Design workplaces and work processes including layouts, ergonomic evaluations, and material supply optimization
- Monitor plant productivity KPIs and support achievement of manufacturing performance targets
- Prepare and coordinate process relocation and optimization initiatives in collaboration with planning and production teams
