About this role
Develop and optimize the software and control systems powering mobile manipulators and automation platforms for an embodied AI company. You'll design perception, planning, and control stacks using ROS 2, collaborating with hardware teams and international offices to build robots capable of precise manipulation in real-world environments.
What you'll do
- Design and implement motion planning, trajectory optimization, and collision avoidance algorithms
- Develop sensor fusion, localization, and mapping software for robotic perception systems
- Integrate robotic arms, grippers, vision systems, and sensors with software stacks
- Optimize system performance for real-time production environments and troubleshoot hardware-software issues
- Research and implement machine learning techniques for robotic task execution
- Work with ROS 2 and simulation platforms to ensure modularity and scalability
What they're looking for
- ROS 2 and robotics middleware
- Python and C++ programming
- Motion planning and trajectory optimization
- Perception systems (cameras, LiDAR, depth sensors)
- Kinematics, dynamics, and system modeling
- Isaac Sim and simulation environments
- Docker and containerization tools
- Machine learning for robotics
Benefits
- Competitive salary: $125,000–$260,000 based on experience
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- 401(k) with 100% company match
- 20 days paid time off, paid sick leave, and parental leave
- Wellness/gym stipend and learning development support
- Equity and bonus opportunities
Likely interview questions
- Describe a complex motion planning or trajectory optimization problem you've solved—what approach did you take and what were the performance trade-offs?
- How have you integrated perception systems (cameras, LiDAR) with control systems in production robotics, and what challenges did you encounter?
