SimpliSafe is hiring a Software Engineer I to join their Video team in Boston, building cloud-based backend services for live streaming and video recording. You'll contribute real code from day one while learning distributed systems design, working with AI-assisted tools, and collaborating with senior engineers in a mentorship-focused environment.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain backend microservices for video ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery at scale
  • Write clean, well-tested code following best practices for maintainability and distributed systems
  • Debug issues and make incremental improvements to existing systems while building architectural context
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews, giving and receiving feedback
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging workflows
  • Join on-call rotation as first responder after onboarding, with mentorship from senior engineers
