Process Safety Engineer

About this role

Mariana Minerals seeks a Process Safety Engineer to build and manage their process safety program across lab, pilot, and future operating facilities. You'll lead structured hazard assessments, inform facility design decisions, and translate risk findings into practical engineering controls for a software-first minerals company.

What you'll do

• Lead and facilitate PHAs, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, LOPAs, and formal risk assessments for labs, pilots, and operating systems
• Administer PSM workflows including risk study planning, documentation, action tracking, and verification
• Review process designs (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts) and provide engineering input on hazardous materials, ventilation, fire protection, and emergency systems
• Support Management of Change and Pre-Startup Safety Review processes for technical changes and startup readiness
• Develop and maintain process safety information, hazard registers, safeguard libraries, and PSM procedures
• Partner with internal teams, external engineers, and regulators to clarify code requirements and design implications
