About this role
Skydio seeks a Cellular Compliance Engineer to lead cellular certification testing for drone products, ensuring successful PTCRB and carrier certification across the product portfolio. The role involves hands-on support at third-party labs, troubleshooting failures, and coordinating with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to meet certification milestones with up to 50% travel required.
What you'll do
- Own and support PTCRB and carrier certification testing programs for Skydio products
- Develop certification plans, test strategies, schedules, and configurations based on product architecture
- Provide onsite support at third-party labs for device setup, configuration, debugging, and issue resolution
- Troubleshoot certification failures and coordinate root cause analysis with vendors, chipset suppliers, and carriers
- Analyze modem logs, signaling data, and RF measurements to identify and resolve certification issues
- Track certification status, communicate progress and risks to cross-functional teams, and support pre-certification readiness reviews
