About this role
Join Skydio's Product Design team as a summer intern to design mechanical components for next-generation autonomous drones. You'll tackle real engineering challenges through prototyping, testing, and cross-functional collaboration with a world-class team in San Mateo.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical parts and assemblies for prototype drones using 3D CAD
- Investigate root causes of product issues and develop engineering or manufacturing solutions
- Conduct hands-on prototyping, testing, and data collection to validate designs
- Collaborate with global engineering teams and suppliers on design-for-manufacturing
- Present design work in reviews and learn from senior engineers
- Apply creative problem-solving to complex mechanical design challenges
