Chief Engineer
About this role
Lead the technical development and certification of a fly-by-wire flight control system (SkyOS) for rotorcraft. As Chief Engineer, you'll own the architectural vision and execution across software, hardware, and flight operations, driving the program from concept through regulatory approval while coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring safety and performance standards.
What you'll do
- Define technical project scope, schedules, resource allocation, and dependencies across software, hardware, systems, and program management disciplines
- Lead cross-functional coordination for development, qualification, and certification activities across engineering teams
- Identify and mitigate technical risks early; escalate issues transparently when mitigation strategies falter
- Develop and maintain the fly-by-wire system architecture to meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements
- Elicit, document, and translate system requirements into technical specifications and allocated design decisions
- Partner with certification organizations and regulators to ensure design and evidence support the certification basis
