About this role
SpaceX seeks an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer to oversee the full manufacturing lifecycle of flight-critical avionics hardware, from PCBA and sensor assembly through environmental testing. You'll bridge engineering and production teams to optimize processes, drive design for manufacturability, and ensure rate objectives while maintaining the highest reliability standards for spacecraft and launch vehicles.
What you'll do
- Serve as primary liaison between avionics engineering, supply chain, and production to meet manufacturing and test rate objectives
- Implement and automate high-reliability manufacturing processes to enable independent production team operation
- Drive design updates in response to manufacturing issues, part obsolescence, and system requirement changes
- Select, qualify, and continuously improve electronics manufacturing equipment and tooling
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production non-conformances and failure investigations
- Prepare production documentation including assembly procedures, test protocols, BOMs, and mechanical drawings
