About this role

SpaceX seeks a Build Reliability Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for Starship production at Starbase, TX. You'll design tooling, define inspection procedures, collaborate across disciplines, and drive continuous improvement to ensure quality at scale while managing build-induced vehicle risk.

What you'll do

  • Develop manufacturing, assembly, welding, NDE, and checkout processes from conception, enforcing consistency across work centers
  • Design and implement tooling for work access, testing, fixturing, lifting, and fluid systems
  • Define inspection requirements and procedures; create training for production and inspection
  • Author planning documents and test plans to collect data and maintain quality at increasing production volumes
  • Collaborate with quality and design teams to contain non-conformances and correct systemic issues
  • Conduct build quality reviews, identify repeat issues, and drive corrective actions
