About this role
SpaceX seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support launch operations at Vandenberg Air Force Base, ensuring compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations while managing hazards in a high-paced aerospace environment. The role demands expertise in both EHS disciplines to mitigate risks and support aggressive launch schedules.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain compliance with Cal-OSHA, Federal OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, EPA, and Air Force Base regulations
- Conduct job hazard assessments and collaborate with leadership to implement safety policies and procedures
- Perform facility and equipment inspections to identify hazards, implement machine guarding, and maintain safety documentation
- Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate industrial accidents and occupational illnesses to determine root causes and preventive measures
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste compliance and environmental permit recordkeeping
