Manufacturing Engineer, Optical Fiber (Starlink)

SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Optical Fiber to enhance the manufacturing and testing processes for optical fiber assemblies. This role involves collaboration with design and testing teams to ensure product reliability and facilitate the transition from new product introduction to high-volume production.

What you'll do

• Manage new product introductions for optical fiber assemblies
• Design and implement production test procedures to enhance reliability
• Work with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes
• Drive corrective actions for non-conforming hardware
• Investigate root causes of issues to enhance reliability
• Collaborate with design teams for manufacturability improvements

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• 1+ years in mechanical/electromechanical design or manufacturing
• Experience with optical fiber assemblies
• Knowledge of various fiber technologies
• Familiarity with manufacturing techniques like splicing
• High volume production experience
• Statistical analysis skills
• Strong communication skills
