SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Satellite Solar Array team, responsible for designing and implementing advanced photovoltaic systems for the Starlink satellites. This role involves collaboration across teams to enhance the reliability and performance of solar power assemblies used in these satellites.
What you'll do
- Design and analyze solar array components and systems
- Develop and qualify satellite mechanical systems for solar arrays
- Lead technical design reviews and improve production outcomes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on vehicle performance
- Conduct testing and verification planning
- Manage design for manufacturing and production efficiency
What they're looking for
- Mechanical/electromechanical design experience
- Knowledge of solar array design and manufacturing
- Experience with photovoltaic cell performance analysis
- Skills in FEA and hand calculations
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred)
- Familiarity with GD&T
- Understanding of various manufacturing processes
- Experience in statistical process control
