New Graduate Engineer, Mechanical (Starshield)

About this role

SpaceX is seeking a New Graduate Mechanical Engineer for the Starshield project to contribute to ambitious space exploration initiatives. Candidates will engage in hardware design, testing, and production, while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to meet project goals.

What you'll do

• Oversee hardware from design to production and on-orbit operations
• Develop design criteria and drive system-level optimization
• Iterate designs to inform product direction
• Implement design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
• Establish efficient product lifecycle from supply chain to integration
• Conduct environmental and performance testing on hardware

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM
• Experience with CAD or FEA software
• Mechanical/electromechanical design experience
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Understanding of GD&T
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
• Structural analysis knowledge
• Demonstrated ownership of engineering projects
