Operations Engineer, Starbase Infrastructure

Starbase, TXmidAdded today

About this role

Operations Engineer responsible for standardizing work management, planning, and execution across Starbase's infrastructure shops (power, HVAC, facilities, utilities, industrial gases). You'll streamline work orders and processes using software tools, physical changes, or personnel standards while ensuring shops operate as a unified system and meet operational readiness for new systems.

What you'll do

  • Standardize work request, planning, execution, and closeout processes across all infrastructure shops with documented exceptions for specialized systems
  • Implement company and site standards (Warp, Foundation, LOTO, MOC) and adopt proven processes from other SpaceX facilities
  • Diagnose operational problems and select appropriate solutions: software/AI tools, physical changes, or personnel training and standards
  • Define and improve work-management systems including work orders, PM backlogs, kitting, closeout procedures, and critical spares inventory
  • Own commissioning and operational readiness for new/modified systems including punch lists, first PMs, procedures, and staff training
  • Translate design documentation into executable isolation plans, LOTO procedures, work instructions, and hold points for technicians

What they're looking for

  • Industrial plant operations and maintenance engineering
  • Work management systems (Warp, Foundation, Maximo, or SAP PM)
  • Reading P&IDs, electrical one-lines, and technical manuals
  • LOTO, MOC, confined space, and pressurized/energized systems safety
  • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, industrial gas, water/wastewater, or rotating equipment systems
  • SQL, Power BI, scripting, or AI for process automation
  • Commissioning and operational readiness procedures
  • Technical writing and procedure documentation
