Physical Design Engineer II (Silicon Engineering)

SpaceX is seeking a Physical Design Engineer II to work on the development of next-generation ASICs for its Starlink project. The role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to enhance satellite communications infrastructure and requires expertise in physical design methodologies and automation.

What you'll do

• Perform partition synthesis and physical implementation steps
• Develop and improve physical design methodologies and automation scripts
• Collaborate with the ASIC design team on architectural feasibility
• Resolve design and timing issues
• Debug and fix signoff closure issues in static timing analysis

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience in RTL2GDSII design
• Familiarity with EDA tools and their algorithms
• Knowledge of sub-micron FinFET and CMOS solid state physics
• Understanding of CMOS digital design principles
• Good scripting skills in languages like Python and Tcl
• Ability to work in a dynamic group environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt
